Drain Cleaning Techniques
There is nothing more annoying than a clogged sink, bathtub or drainage system. As much as unclogging can seem to be something that any household owner can do, it comes with its complications. That shouldn’t worry you there are many ways to do so.
Before clogging you will begin to notice some signs like unpleasant odors, the sink taking too long to drain or water pooling at your feet while taking a shower.
Clogging can be solved using one of the following ways…
1) Using tools available in stores to clear the clog.
Plungers are available at many local supplies stores. First fill the sink or bathtub with water enough to cover the drain and bottom. Apply pressure on the plunger pushing down several times the pressure will push what was causing the clog allowing water to flow down the drain.
Apart from plungers you can also use wet and dry vacuum.
2) Baking soda and vinegar
Mix baking soda and vinegar in same portion. Then immediately pour it down the clogged drain as soon as it fizzes. Leave it for several hours then flash or release water through the drain. The fizzing should help remove hair, gunk and grime that had clogged up in the pipes.
Clogged Drains Can Are Not Only Annoying But Can Be A Big Problem In Your Home.
3) Use of hot water
This is the simplest technique. Simply bring water to boil then slowly pour it down the drain in intervals giving it time to work it purpose.
4) Caustic soda
Caustic soda is corrosive so use protective gear like gloves and eye goggles when it comes to this technique.
Pour three liters of cold water into a bucket and add 3 cups of caustic soda. Using a stick or a wooden spoon stir and watch as it will start to fizz. Pour it down the clogged drain then live it for twenty to thirty minutes then pour hot water down the drain.
In the case of a clogged toilet pour dish detergent and hot water then using a plunger starting the toilet.
